Auntie’s new book Hot off the presses!

We just received a copy of a new book from Mark’s (mine as well) auntie. It’s titled Swahili Chic: Serenity, Sensuality, Spirituality and it contains some of the most beautiful pictures that I have ever seen. This is her second book which explores design, travel and cultural differences throughout some of the many regions Bibi has explored. The books are worth it for the pictures alone! Check it out at www.bibijordan.com. She has her bio, book listing (including a video of her new release), and gallery which you can order limited edition prints from. I also noticed she has an upcoming exhibit which is previewing next weekend April 29 in LA. It opens officially May 6 and runs until the end of June. I know that she also runs some tours to various regions including Africa–those of you who have met Bibi realize just what an adventure this would be!!! We’re so proud of you Auntie! xoxo Continue reading

Bentley Easter–The egg hunt tradition continues…….

The Bentley family side has had Easter delayed by one week. I’m happy to tell you all that we’ve confirmed it for Sunday. We’ll be hosting an Easter dinner here (around 3) with Uncle Chris, Grandma and Grampa. I think Joe is in Ontario and will be unable to make it. Grampa has even said that there will be an egg hunt — he doesn’t mean just because of Kris and Emma. The Bentley boys, Chris, Joe and Mark, have been having easter egg hunts all of this time. That’s right, guys in their twenties and mid thirties running around looking for eggs–and fighting each other for them. Continue reading

CBC News Story

I was watching CBC news last week when an intesting, inspiring story came on. It was a little 7 year old boy, adorable by the way, battling cancer. The story showed him, Shane Bernier, and his brother opening hundreds of birthday cards. His mom had asked him what he would like for his 8th birthday. He didn’t want a playstation, or toys, or movies, or games. He asked for birthday cards. His birthday is on May 30th. He has received thousands of cards so far. In fact, tens of thousands. He is trying to break the world record for birthday cards. Continue reading

Kris takes over (Part deux)

You will notice that in Mark’s comment he was saying Kris is sitting in Joe’s chair watching Joe’s t.v. Please note that Joe is no longer here but most of his stuff is!! Hint, hint Joe. As if you ever read this. Anyone who would like to help me move his stuff over to the garage will win free beer — or maybe furniture! Continue reading

Kris takes over.

Kris has now moved down into the basement to take over Joe’s old room. He can be found sitting in Joe’s old leather chair happily watching Joe’s TV. He is settling in pretty well and is quite happy with his new domain. Continue reading
