Emma gets a doll house (and a black eye…)

We bought Emma her first doll house yesterday at a consignment store for kids by our house. It’s really, really cute. It’s the Fischer Price Little Peoples doll house. It came with a house that opens up, a mom, a dad, a baby, a stroller, highchair, change table, crib, bed, table, chair, etc. She seems to really like it. Especially likes putting people onto the toliet. It’s bathroom has a toliet with a lid that opens and you can get people to sit on it which, for some reason, is Emma’s favorite part at the moment. She doesn’t seem to like the baby very much and quite often throws her on the floor. She doesn’t like real toliets at all right now either. We’ve tried getting her to sit on the potty and even bought one of those training rings for the toliet for her to try out. She is often dry in the morning and sometimes will even tell me “poopy” before she goes which are all positive signs for potty training at least.

This morning, Mark slept in while Emma and I went for a walk and then played in the back yard. We’ve got a big climber/play center that she usually does okay on by herself. I was watering the garden in preparation for another blistering hot day while she climbed the ladder to the play center. She sat down at the top of the slide and started saying “help please mommy”. I told her to go ahead and go down the slide as that is what she normally does but she kept calling for help so I went over to the bottom of the slide to catch her. It’s a good thing I did because she (was wearing a tutu maybe that made her go really fast, I don’t know) zoomed down the slide much faster than usual and bonked her head on the edge of it. She started crying immediately and I didn’t think that it was too bad and held and kissed her for a while. After a minute or so, she was still crying so we looked in the garden and found a ripe strawberry, which always helps. After that she ate a whole tomato that we found ripe and both of us quite forgot about the bonk on her head from the slide. About an hour later when Mark was up and we were back in the house, I noticed some swelling and pinkness near her eye. It’s a little bit of a black eye, poor thing!:{ Just makes you want to cry in sympathy for her and I think it’s a little tender because she keeps saying owwie and pointing to it. I’ll see if I can get and post pics of both the doll house and the eye later on so that everyone can see.
